Blended Recipe Reveal: Pond Voyáge

When I discussed home blending, I mentioned that I'd be working to create some great home blends to share with you. I'm pleased to announce that I've discovered a fantastic blend with exciting flavors.
A bottle of whiskey next to a glass with whiskey and ice with an orange slice inside.

I've tried several recipes, but none have felt quite ready for primetime. However, this blend was a knockout from the beginning. And after a few days of marrying, I think it's ready to release to the world.

Here is how this works: I'll post my tasting notes for the blend for everyone to see. But to get the recipe, you have to be a subscriber.

I'm calling this recipe "Pond Voyáge." It's a mixture of American, Irish, and Scotch whiskies (taking you on a voyage "across the pond") that provides a fantastic profile. My only complaint about this blend is that the finish isn't as long as I'd like, but I can always tweak that on the next run.

Nose: Toasted oak, mesquite BBQ, vanilla, toffee, toasted almonds, a hint of coffee

Palate: Medium-bodied and nutty, with vanilla, oak, and mesquite wisping up in the finish, along with a touch of Garryana spices, a wisp of smoke, and marshmallow.
